Here is a bit of a whakawhanaungatanga, to introduce myself. I’m the wahine behind Hau Botanicals. Hau Botanicals is all the things I love in life, coming together. I have always been a nature nerd, which led me to do a BSc in Zoology and Ecology and MSc in Freshwater Ecology. My passion is our environment here in Aotearoa, and supporting iwi/ hapū engage in environmental governance, management and monitoring. This mahi has connected me to the most amazing people and places, and helped me along my rongoā journey.
Rongoā Māori (n) natural remedy, traditional treatment, Māori medicine. Rongoā Māori is holistic in both its philosophy and approach. We use tikanga (traditional Māori customs) and cues from te taiao (the environment) to determine the best time to harvest. We only take what the plant can provide, and return all plant material to its source. Our other raw ingredients are from certified organic sources. And our beeswax is from local bees that collect nectar from conservation land, adjacent to our whānau farm.
